Terms of use

About these terms

Podium is a free, independent project operated under the name RQAI. These terms apply to the Podium website, web app and downloadable desktop apps. By using Podium, you agree to them. There is currently no purchase, subscription or paid service.

Using Podium

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and revocable right to use Podium for lawful presentation, interview and speaking practice.

You are responsible for how and where you use Podium. Follow the rules of your employer, school, university, interviewer or assessment body. Do not use Podium to misrepresent your work, evade assessment rules or help another person do so.

You must not misuse Podium, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, distribute malware, infringe another person’s rights or use content you do not have permission to use.

Desktop access codes

Desktop preview access is limited. Sign up before using the current download code, and do not publish or sell the code. We may change or withdraw it if it is misused or if access must be limited for security or capacity.

The Windows installer is an official Podium preview build but is not yet code-signed. Windows may therefore show a SmartScreen warning. Download it only from podium.rqai.co.uk and check the SHA-256 value shown on the download page.

Your presentations and recordings

You keep ownership of material you import or create. You are responsible for having permission to use that material and for obtaining any consent required before recording another person. Podium normally stores your material on your device and does not claim rights over it.

Local browser or app storage can be lost through device failure, storage clearing, browser changes or uninstallation. Keep your own copy of important presentations and recordings.

Feedback and practice results

Podium’s measurements and suggestions are estimates. Speech recognition, timing and other analysis may be incomplete or wrong. Use your judgement and do not rely on Podium as the sole basis for an important academic, employment, medical, legal or financial decision.

You decide whether and how to act on feedback. Podium cannot guarantee that you will pass an interview, viva or assessment, or achieve a particular presentation result.

Optional third-party services

Some optional features use a provider you select, such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. You provide your own account or API key and remain responsible for that provider’s charges and terms. We are not responsible for a third-party service outside our control.

Availability and changes

Podium is under active development. We may fix, change, add or remove features. We may also suspend a feature when needed for security, maintenance or legal reasons. We will take reasonable care but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, RQAI is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or loss of local data where you could reasonably have kept a backup.

Ending use

You can stop using Podium at any time and remove locally stored data through the app, browser or operating system. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to prevent misuse or protect Podium and its users.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory rights and may be able to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
